Thom Strandberg started planning out the game with Tommy over the summer. Thom is the Game Designer and wrote the original GDD, as well as creating most of the original art assets for the game. He authored the Hammertank logo, level layouts, many of the mech models, the heightmap textures, particle effects etc.
Thom Strandberg was responsible for the resource manager and object creation systems. He wrote the pathfinding AI and Enemy behaviors and much of the game logic code including the controls, pickups, and shooting. Thom expanded Tommy’s particle system in order to create all the particle effects in the game. He also migrated the core system classes from GLFW to SDL and added functionality for pausing, mouse lock, and resolution changing.
